Night Rating
Introduction
The Night Rating is an enjoyable and extremely useful course allowing LAPL and PPL holders to exercise the privileges of their licence during the hours of official night.
The course consists of five hours instruction, including at least one solo flight during which five full stop landings are made.
There is also a 27nm navigation flight and the opportunity to practice simulated emergencies both in and outside of the circuit environment.
There are no examinations or proficiency checks for the issue of the rating and no revalidation or renewal requirements. In order to carry passengers, one night take-off and landing within the preceding 90 days is required.
There is also an opportunity to conduct part of the training at Aberdeen and Wick.
